JAIR LYNCH Development Partners, in partnership with AHD, Inc. and Franklin Capital Group, completed the redevelopment the former Bowling Green Apartments in Southeast Washington, D.C. in 2004. The project is comprised of 100% affordable rental homes, with 126 units of one, two and three bedrooms, as well as two bedroom units with lofts. Layered public financing and thoughtful architecture were employed to turn the 13 abandoned buildings into back-to-back townhomes where every resident has a front door facing the street. The project was re-named Royal Courts by the students of neighboring Ballou High School, who participated in JAIR LYNCH's Construction Site Visit Program and monitored the progress of the building while also learning about the history of the Congress Heights neighborhood.
What's nearby?
JAIR LYNCH has had an ongoing presence in the Congress Heights neighborhood, which is less than 10 minutes from downtown Washington. Places to work like the Unified Communications Center and places to play like the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center are examples of JAIR LYNCH's commitment to the neighborhood, not to mention two schools developed on behalf of Friendship Public Charter Schools, Southeast Elementary Academy and Friendship Technology Preparatory Public Charter School. These act as neighborhood amenities to the residents of Royal Courts and Savannah Heights and further demonstrate the ongoing work of JAIR LYNCH in this community.
