Lamond Recreation Center

Project Details:

Client: DC Department of Parks & Recreation
Location: 20 Tuckerman Street NE
Type: Recreational
Target Area: Upper Northwest
Cost: $6.2 million
Size: 14,750 SF

JAIR LYNCH Development Partners, as part of a joint venture with Alpha Corporation, acted as a development manager for the DC Department of Parks and Recreation in the development of this 14,750 square foot community recreation center. The facility features energy efficient technology and construction materials, and was the first public building in the District of Columbia to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDŽ) Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The state-of-the-art facility includes a gym, workout room and meeting space, with fields outside and a bio-pond for water collection. The neighborhood was so thrilled by the project that it publicly recognized the JAIR LYNCH development manager for his work.

What's nearby?

JAIR LYNCH recognized the tremendous growth potential of Upper Northwest DC and began its work in the area with neighborhood-serving recreation centers like Lamond, Emery Park and Takoma Aquatic Center, which houses the only Olympic-sized public pool in DC. Currently, JAIR LYNCH is working on Georgia Commons, an affordable rental project on Georgia Avenue. The project is part of the LEEDŽ for Neighborhood Development Pilot Project.
