JAIR LYNCH, working with Sorg & Associates, completed a Master Plan for the redevelopment of the former Eastgate Gardens public housing site and the surrounding Marshall Heights neighborhood in NE Washington. The Master Plan, based on an Existing Conditions Report and a Market Study completed by the team and reflective of extensive community input at design workshops, became the basis of the District’s successful application to HUD for $20 million in HOPE VI funding. The plan included the redevelopment of an adjacent vacant site and rehabilitation of additional infill sites throughout the neighborhood. The effort was undertaken in partnership with the DC Housing Authority, the Marshall Heights Community Development Organization, and the former residents of Eastgate Gardens.
