When JAIR LYNCH Development Partners began to outgrow its offices on U Street, the company made a bold decision to avoid having to leave the neighborhood. Instead, JAIR LYNCH undertook a major renovation of its offices that resulted in a 3,600 square foot modern addition to the historic rowhouse; an addition that was featured in DesignCult for its masterful expression of the old and new. The open, studio floor plan reflects the way in which JAIR LYNCH staff engages each other in their work. The project, which was designed by Inscape Studios, won the DC Chapter of American Institute of Architects (DCAIA) Award of Merit 2004 for Outstanding Achievement in Architecture.
JAIR LYNCH, in addition to having its offices on U Street, has been active in this area since the company’s inception in 1998. Whether as a developer of historic community centers like Center for Community Change and the Thurgood Marshall Center; multifamily housing like Barcelona, Verona Parc or Solea condominiums; affordable housing like Capital Manor Cooperative; or neighborhood assets like KIPP DC's WILL Academy, Bread for the City and Unity Health Care in Upper Cardozo, JAIR LYNCH has long been a neighborhood leader in MidCity Washington.
